A couple of monkeys

Sunday afternoons tend to get a bit crazy around our house. The boys were quite frankly, "off the wall" today.

We've had a couple of fun weeks recently. Last weekend, we went up to the Terry Family cabin in Pine Valley with the Widdisons and the Aikeles. Somewhat typical of us, we left the camera at home. So hopefully we'll get some pictures from the others to post.
While at the cabin, we had fun watching movies, having a bbq, playing games (Murder in the Dark was a hit with the kids), and an unsuccessful morning of fishing. The Aikeles even brought up a badminton set that everyone enjoyed. Cam wasn't about to let that game get the best of him. He worked diligently to learn how to hit that little birdie.

The biggest hit however, was the lemonade/cookie stand for the kids. They made about 4 gallons of really strong lemonade, and about 3 dozen cookies. Prior to the main event, the kids made all kinds of signs (out of wood and purple paint) advertising the $.25 lemonade and $.50 cookies. They even had a business plan with specific jobs for everyone. Conner was the manager (at least on paper), Derek was a server, Cameron was the maintenance man (poor guy had to do all the muscle work), and Sydney was an advertising specialist. She carried cardboard signs on the main road. We didn't think they'd have too much success as it was a Monday. We were wrong! In about 2 hours, the goods were gone and the kids had a total of $60.78 to show for it. After splitting the proceeds with all the kids, they each walked away with about $7.50. They could not have been happier! Now we adults are considering doing some bake sales to raise some $$$. Hahahaha.

Cam and buddy Tyler

Yesterday, Dad took just the boys out for a day on the lake with friends Steve and Scott. Dad was in the water with Derek when he finally learned to wake board (hence, no picture). It took him a bit to get his balance but Derek is now a proud wake boarder.

A tube picture of Cam and Tyler will have to do.

The summer is going by really fast. Sandy goes back to school on the 20th, something none of us are looking forward to. In the meantime, we will try to spend some more time in the pool and doing our best to end summer with a bang.
