BYU vs.UNLV Basketball

We took Austin and the three older boys to the UNLV against BYU Basketball game. It was a great game for our family, but sad for the BYU fans! We support our old college teams! UNLV beat them by 20 points. It was pouring rain getting there, and we didn't have an umbrella! We all walked into the game pretty wet, but by the end of the game we had dried off quite a bit! Fun Times to remember!!

Trip to San Francisco

In January, I took Austin and Sydney and flew to San Francisco to see my sister Leslie. Sydney was so excited to play with her cousin Sophia. We did so many fun things in the 4 days we were there. The first night Leslie and I left the kids with her Nanny and went to see the famous Ballet, "Swan Lake." It was so good! Both of us loved it! The rest of the time we went to the children's museum, beach, and Golden Gate Park. We ate Vietnamese, and Chinese Food. It was so Yummy! We gave Sophia and Sydney a few dollars and let them go into different little shops to spend their money. They both decided to spend their money on Gum! I can understand that since I am a gum addict myself. Leslie was so fun with the kids. She got out her Face Paint and let the kids choose what they wanted her to paint. Sydney chose a butterfly, and Sophia wanted a frog! We had such a great time visiting! Steve ran the show at home while I was away! It is so nice to leave and know everything is going to be taken care of exactly right. When I came home the whole house was clean, homework was done, and kids had been taken to their individual activities. I think I'll start traveling more often! Just kidding Steve!

Conner got his Arrow of Light in Scouts

Conner had his Arrow of Light ceremony in January. One of the Scout leaders made him a leather banner. She put all of his awards, and pins that he earned in Cub Scouts on it. Good Job Conner!

Sushi

Steve and I decided it was time for the kids to try sushi! Steve and I don't like it very much, but we wanted the kids to try it for themselves. We went to Samurai 21 in Mesquite. Our whole family sat around the Hibachi grill and watched them cook our dinner in front of us. The kids thought this was awesome! The fire, eggs and utensils being thrown and caught were some of the most intriguing parts of the dinner! All the kids(including Alexa ate with chopsticks. I couldn't believe how well they could eat with them. Alexa became a pro in just a few minutes. On the other hand, Steve and I were boring with our forks. We were hungry and knew we could maneuver our fork faster than the chopsticks. Conner and Derek didn't love the sushi, but didn't hate it either(similar to their parents.) Cameron and Sydney decided they didn't want to try it!

Austin turned 5 months old

Our little Austin in growing up! He turned 5 months on the 15Th of February. I started him on baby food a month ago, and he loves it! He can sit up by himself for a little while, and can almost roll from back to stomach. He is such a good baby! He only cries when he is hungry, poopy, or tired! We love him so much! When I took him to the doctor at3 1/2 months old he weighed 19 pounds, and was in the 97Th percentile for his height. I guess we shouldn't call him Little Austin!

No more Tonsils

Derek was getting strep throat numerous times in the last 6 months. We decided enough was enough, and he had them taken out on December 31st. He did so well! He hardly ever complained, and it sure didn't keep him from doing the outdoor activities he enjoys. I know it is disgusting, but I had to post a picture of Derek's tonsils!
